Dear Parents,
I hope you enjoy your children´s company for the few days break coming up. The teaching staff will be in Madrid for the annual COBIS/King´s Group Conference, returning on Saturday evening. Tomorrow the day will end at 14:30 and the school will be closed on Monday 31st October and Tuesday 1st November, re-opening on Wednesday 2nd November.
SIXTH FORM (YEARS 12 & 13) OPEN DAY, THURSDAY 17TH NOVEMBER 2011
In September 2012 King´s College, Murcia will be opening their first Sixth Form (Year 12) classes, with pupils studying towards their AS and A Levels in preparation for university entrance. On Thursday 17th November there will be an Open Day for all prospective parents for Sixth Form at King´s College, Murcia. This will begin at 4.45pm with an introduction by Robin Silk and will include the chance for tours, an opportunity to see many of our co-curricular activities in action and end with an address by Mrs Elaine Blaus, the Head of King´s College, Madrid on AS and A Level and the transition to Spanish, British and other universities. Both current and prospective parents are encouraged to come along and find out what an outstanding pre-university education we will offer here at King´s College, the British School of Murcia. WINTER UNFORM
A reminder that starting with the children´s return to school on 2nd November they should be in Winter Uniform. Please consult the uniform list if you are unsure as to what this entails. You can find it on the website.
HOUSE SHIRTS
The house t-shirts for Gaudi House (blue) and Newton House (red) are now available for sale in the school shop. A reminder that these are compulsory for all pupils in Year 3 and above and optional for those in Years 1 and 2.
SCHOOL SHOP AFTERNOON OPENING
In order to help parents picking up their children from school the uniform shop will now open between 3pm and 6pm on a Wednesday only. This will begin on Wednesday 2nd November.
HALLOWEEN DRESS-UP/NON-UNIFORM DAY
A reminder that this Thursday the children are invited to dress up for the day, which will end at 2.30pm. A charitable donation should be brought in by children and all donations will be put towards the Poppy Appeal. Pick up and buses have been brought forward by 2 hours as stated in my previous letter.
