Dear Parents,

I am pleased to say you will now be able to find all previous letters of mine on the website.  Please do look at and use the website as it will be frequently updated and will become gradually more user friendly as time progresses.

It was great to see so many of you at the inter-house football final Friday.  Charged up after a few days break, the Primary participants played with real determination.  Well done to both Olive and Lemon Houses for providing such excitement.  For those interested, Olive House triumphed 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time.

EVENTS THIS WEEK

This week is a tremendously busy week for the school.  Tomorrow we have the Dress Rehearsal of the Early Years Christmas Show and this is followed by performances on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th December at 3pm, with more than 200 parents and family members coming to see the performances on each day.

On Tuesday 14th December, starting at 10.30am we have the inaugural King´s College U.11 Inter-School Football Tournament and this is followed by the U.9 Inter-School Football Tournament on Thursday from 10.30am to 3.30pm.  Parents are welcome to attend on both occasions.

On Thursday 16th December at 4pm we have the Primary School end of term assembly in the Multi-Purpose hall; we welcome parents´ attendance at this event, where the Year 3 to 6 Choir will be singing Christmas Carols.

On Friday 17th December we have the Primary and Secondary ´King´s College has Got Talent´ Show at 3pm; again parents (from Years 3 to 10 only) are welcome to attend, but please do not be late because it will be starting at precisely 3pm in the Main School Dining Hall

BUSES

If your child usually travels on the bus and you will be picking him/her up after any of the events this week or next then please leave a note with Carlos Campos at the Reception.

CHRISTMAS FAYRE

Thank you to those parents who agreed to run a stall at the Christmas Fayre.  The Fayre will start at 2.30pm and run until 4.30pm.  If you are running a stall can you please turn up at the school to set up after 11am?  It will take place in the Sports Hall.  An area/table will be designated for each stall, although there are also other activities.  Please furnish your children with a small amount of money to take part (the money goes to charity)!

ACTIVITIES

Sorry for the rather belated reminder, but activities are now finished for this term.  The one exception is Carlos Campos´s Thursday Rock and Pop session, which will still be on this week to prepare for the Talent Show.  A new round of activities will resume on Monday 17th January.  Mr Whitaker will be sending out a letter early next week for the next round of activities.

LAST DAY OF TERM

The last day of term will finish at precisely 2.30pm, following Christmas dinner for all children.  Buses will run at this time, but parents can pick up their children any time after 2.20pm.

I hope you and all the children have a thoroughly enjoyable last week of term.  Do remember that you can pick up your children´s reports on the last day of term.   There will be parents´ evenings in the first few weeks of next term for all year groups when you can discuss reports and your child´s continued progress and in this regard I attach the provisional calendar for the Winter Term.

I hope you all have a superb Christmas break and enjoy time together with your sons and daughters.  We look forward to welcoming all the children back in the New Year.  Term begins at 9.15am on Monday 10th January.

Best wishes

Robin Silk
